I buy applaws for my cats, I have three now having just rescued Blackie, a five year old fluffy black Persian tom cat in poor condition with several large mats on his fur plus several ticks etc. it's early days with him yet but is is about Hermes, a three year old brown mackerel tabby tom cat with special markings on his right flank, last year he appeared at my door meaowing in distress with a badly infected rear paw, both cats had to be taken straight to the vet for treatment. it is Hermes who eats grass and I feed him canned foods with seaweed, when I saw the Applaws chicken breast with asparagus, I knew it was right for him and he certainly liked it, Buying two cartons was the right thing for him even though I split their feeds btween meat and fish whereas Blackie tends to prefer Purina gourmet mousse and cat milk.
Blackie has been coming to my door since summer 2023, occasionally at first culminating in three visits per day this winter, it was when I saw the area around the right side of his neck, I knew I had to get him to a vet immediately who removed some large mats leaving bare skin whereas his neck was debrided of necrotic skin about the size of a 10p coin.
he is slowly bonding with Hermes having previously entered the house on numerous occasions over the previous few months and they have all been sleeping in the living room in seperate couches on body heat reflecting mats.
Mustn't forget to mention Queenie the female calico cat.
