It is never advisable to use a flea treatment on a pet that it is not specifically designed for. Some parasite treatments are designed with both cats and dogs in mind but most are specified for individual species or even individual breeds and weights.
Can indoor cats get fleas or worms?
No pet is immune to parasites but indoor cats are certainly less likely to suffer from an infestation. They still can prone to flea, worm and ticks that may be brought in to the house by other pets, people or items. If in doubt on whether your cat needs a parasite treatment, consult your vet.
How do I remove a tick from my cat safely?
Ticks are nasty parasites to deal with. The best approach is getting them off of your pet as soon as possible. Removing the tick with a pair of tick tweezers and cleaning the removal area is what's best for your pet. If you are unsure then ask your vet for advice.
At what age can kittens start flea and worming treatment?
For specific application instructions based on age, always consult both the manufacturer's specifications and your vet. Some treatments are appropriate for kittens as young as 3 weeks of age but this varies from product to product.
